Elizabeth Almeida was born in Montreal Canada in 1968, and is presently living in Lisbon - Portugal.   Graduated
 in Communication Design at the University of Fine Arts of Lisbon in 1996. 

Elizabeth, is represented in private collections, at several Lisbon State Agencies and Museums as well as in Italy. At present she works as an Artist, Set Designer, Graphic Designer and Art Director.  She has had past solo exhibitions at several art galleries including Cultural Centers and Museums throughout the country, such as: The National Cordage - Lisboa, the Pancas Palha Palace - Lisboa,  the Water Museum - Lisboa, the Cascais Cultural Center - Cascais, and the Museum of Portimão, the MU.SA - Museum of Sintra,  the Convent of Espirito Santo in Loulé  and Fundação Telecom Portugal - Lisboa, among others.  

In 1994 she was represented at the VII Biennal of Young Creators of Europe and the Mediterranean and in 1995 achieved the second Prize at “Traiettorie Sonore de Musica Contaminatta” in Cuomo, Italy.  Elizabeth, was invited by UNESCO in 2015to create the award to honour Professor Mariano Gago for the celebrations of the International Day of Science and UNESCO’S 70th Anniversary.  Since then Elizabeth has engaged with UNESCO for several other productions and artistic projects.
